A Review on Quartz Countertops When it is time to choose a countertop for your kitchen or bathrooms, one option you should look at is quartz. There are many manufactures of quartz; here I will review the three we like to use; Caesarstone, Silestone and Cambria. Quartz countertops are man made composed of quartz and pigments and polymer resins. This material is scratch and stain resistant and does not require any sealing. The price range starts around $15 a square foot all the way to $60 a square foot. Caesarstone was founded in 1987, and was the first company to produce a quartz composite surface. Their product is 93% quartz and they offer a lifetime warranty. Caesarstone has about 100 different color options.

Caesarstone is available in two thicknesses, ¾” and 1 ¼” and can be polished or honed.

Silestone has the highest percentage of quartz, 94% and one of the only manufactures that adds a bacterial protection they call Bacteriostatic Protection on some of their colors. Silestone comes in 60 colors and variations and they offer polished, suede and volcano finishes. They are the only one that offers a 25 year transferable warranty.

Cambria is a family owned and American made product. It too is 93% pure quartz with over 100 color options. Cambria is also nonporous and nonabsorbent, which is perfect for food prep. They offer a limited lifetime warranty.

In conclusion, all three of these companies put out great products. Quartz countertops are scratch and stain resistant and never require sealing which make them low maintenance. There are many colors and designs out there to choose from, each line is worth your time to take a look at to find your perfect countertops.
